About Common Sense Millennial

Long, fancy answer: Common Sense Millennial aims to share advice and tips gathered from my own experiences and insight. Ultimately, this is a personal blog, but one focused around personal finance and careers. My goal is to help lead my peers to financial stability and security through work that provides meaning and money. I seek to do more with my money and my life, and I hope that by documenting that here others will find inspiration, motivation, and direction on how to do the same.

Short, sweet answer: Common Sense Millennial is my blog to document my thoughts and experiences on money, work, travel, and life.

About the Millennial

KaliHawlkHi! My name is Kali Hawlk. When I’m not busy enjoying my personal corner of the web to write whatever I want, I’m hard at work on my content marketing and management business and a coming-soon effort to help fellow freelancers and solopreneurs.

All of what I share here for my fellow Millennials is from my personal experience. I live without debt, invest 40% of my income, and went from a boring, low-paying 9 to 5 desk job to building my own business from scratch — and creating work that pays twice as much as I was making working for someone else.

I made my dream of my own creative business into a reality, and I did it in less than a year. I’d love to turn around and help other Millennials reach their big, important career and money goals by sharing what worked — and what didn’t work — for me. Together, we can make it happen!

In addition, I’m an avid runner and I’m happiest when I get to do something outside. I’m passionate about travel and I can’t wait to see more of the world. But in the meantime, I’m pretty content with getting to hang out at home with my awesome husband and our three kitties. (Yes, that’s two cats too many.)

If you’re interested in working with or hiring me, please don’t hesitate to send a message my way. If you’d like to reach me, my blog includes a Contact page or you can email me at commonsensemillennial [at] gmail [dot] com. I’m eager to put my skills and knowledge to work for you.
